"For my 16th birthday, my 94 year old Dad, who despises rock-n-roll, took me to see Elvis. However, the first concert ticket that I purchased myself was for Chris Isaak. The show was unforgettable, and I rocked out to every song, thanks to my collection of Chris's vinyl albums. I had an opportunity to see Chris again in Las Vegas on 2.26.22, fast forward 40 years. His voice is just as awesome - sweet and melodic, and his band has a richer sound, possibly because of the stellar horns and percussion artists. A little surprising to me, given that I haven't bought an album in over 30 years, was that I could sing along to everything from "Vienna Waits for You" to "Say Goodbye to Hollywood" to "Movin' Out." I had to check his discography and discovered he is the 4th best selling solo act (for a reason), yet has released "only" 13 studio albums. His last album was in 1993, so it's no wonder all the great songs of my youth came flooding back during his performance. A bit of research revealed that the man who once climbed lighting rigging ropes in the '70s was limping on stage as he left his piano stool, due to having double-hip replacement. I'm thrilled he hasn't let that hinder him from sharing his NY-style and memory-filled music with his devoted fans. Close your eyes, and you're transported back to 1981. I adored his show, his stories, his music, and it will always transport me to both his and my youthful days."
